White chocolate mummy crispy rice treats #HalloweenTreatsWeek

Disclosure: This post and recipe were created for #HalloweenTreatsWeek! I was sent samples by the sponsor company, but as always all opinions are my own.

Crispy rice cereal is made into adorable mummies with a white chocolate drizzle and eye ball candies for a fun and easy Halloween treat.

Halloween is coming and it's time for all things spooky and fun. These little mummy treats are simple to make and only take a few ingredients.

This is just a jazzed up version of traditional Rice Krispie treats, so you only need the crispy rice cereal, marshmallows, butter, and then the white chocolate and eye ball candies to turn them into mummies. I also add some vanilla extract to the mix because I think it enhances the flavor and pairs well with the white chocolate.

Kids can help make these, too! My kids loved helping to stir up the ingredients and to stick on the eyes. Eyeball candies are a must-have for Halloween baking time! They can turn almost anything into a spooky fun treat!

These mummies are fun for a Halloween party, a school treat, or for a family dessert. My kids like to take some of the things we make to a few of our neighbors to share. But, no matter where you take these treats or who you share them with, they are sure to be a hit!

White Chocolate Mummy Crispy Rice Treats

White Chocolate Mummy Crispy Rice Treats

Crispy rice cereal is made into mummies with a white chocolate drizzle and eye ball candies for a fun and easy Halloween treat.

Ingredients

  • cooking spray
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz.) bag marshmallows (or 4 cups mini marshmallows)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips, or white candy melts
  • candy eyeballs, for decorating

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray a 9"x13" baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the marshmallows until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and rice cereal. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan. Use a piece of wax paper to firmly and evenly press them.
  4. Let cool for a few hours. Cut into 15 rectangles. Remove and rectangles and set them on the counter or a cutting board.
  5. In a double boiler, slowly melt the white chocolate over medium-low heat, stirring often. When smooth, transfer to a large ziploc bag. Snip a small hole in one corner of the bag.
  6. Drizzle the white chocolate over each rectangle to look like the mummy rags. Immediately press two candy eyes onto each so that they stick before the chocolate dries.
  7. Let cool completely. Serve or store for 1-2 days in an airtight container.
