I'm so excited to share these Vampire Bat Marshmallow Pops for my last #HalloweenTreatsWeek recipe of this year. These little bats are so cute! They are also easy to put together and tasty too. They will definitely be a hit at your Halloween gatherings.

To make these vampire bats, you only need a few things - lollipop sticks, marshmallows, dark chocolate candy melts, chocolate sandwich cookies, small candy eyeballs, and red decorating gel. Once you have all the ingredients, these vampire bats are simple to put together.

First you melt the dark chocolate candy melts in a double boiler or the microwave. Then you pull apart some chocolate sandwich cookies and scrape out the cream.

Gently break each chocolate cookie in half to make the wings. If you get some that crumble or break into several pieces, set those aside for a snack and try again. Place them side by on a silicone baking mat with the broken sides facing down.

Then you put a lollipop stick into the bottom of a marshmallow until it's just over halfway through and doesn't poke out of the top. Hold the bottom of the stick and carefully dip the marshmallow in the chocolate and let the excess fall back into the bowl. Place the marshmallow onto the broken cookies.

Then you place the eyeball candy onto the marshmallow. Continue to do this until you use up the chocolate.

It will make about 15 vampire bat marshmallow pops. You'll want to do one at a time so that the chocolate candy melt doesn't dry before you place on the eyeballs.

Once you finish the bats, let them dry completely. Then use the red decorating gel to make a "W" shaped mouth to look like little fangs.

The red decorating gel does not dry. So, if you are taking these somewhere, you may want to wait to draw the fangs on until just before serving so it doesn't smudge or come off in the container.

If you love Halloween or just love bats, here are two other bat recipes to try - Halloween Hidden Bat Loaf Cake and for a savory recipe, Halloween Mini Bat Taco Cheese Balls. I'm a big fans of bats and love creating recipes featuring them for Halloween time.

This recipe makes about 15 vampire bat marshmallow pops. You can double or triple it if you want to make more for a big party. I kept it small, but you can make as many as you need and you will have plenty of leftover gel, candy eyeballs, etc. to do so.

Vampire Bat Marshmallow Pops

Super easy and adorable, these vampire bat marshmallow pops are perfect for a kid's Halloween party or for adults, too.

Ingredients

  • about 15 marshmallows
  • 1 cup dark chocolate candy melts
  • chocolate sandwich cookies (about 8)
  • small candy eyeballs (about 30)
  • 1 tube red decorating gel
  • lollipop sticks (about 15)

Instructions

  1. Line two baking sheets with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate candy melts in a double boiler or in the microwave (in 15-30 second bursts stirring in between).
  3. Break open about 8 chocolate sandwich cookies and scrape out the cream filling. Then gently break the cookies in half to make the wings.
  4. Place two cookie halves onto the prepared baking sheet, broken side down, so that they are touching.
  5. Take a marshmallow and insert a lollipop stick into the bottom (long way) until it is about halfway up.
  6. Dip the marshmallow into the chocolate and turn it until it is coated. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place onto the cookie halves on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Place the eyeball candy onto the chocolate covered marshmallow.
  8. Repeat until you've used all the chocolate. Then let them all dry fully.
  9. Once dry, use the red decorating gel to make little fangs in a "W" shape. Serve.
  10. If you are not serving right away, or you are taking them somewhere, wait to add the fangs until right before serving as the gel does not really dry and will smear, etc. in a container.
